The University teams regularly compete in the BUCS university leagues and in the BUCS championships. Additionally, we encourage all our fencers, regardless of level, to take part in individual competitions. These are an invaluable way of gaining experience and a chance to fence against a variety of people from other clubs.

Most national competitions are listed on the British Fencing events calendar, here. We have listed a small selection of local national competitions and competitions suitable for novice and intermediate fencers.

Novice/Intermediate Competitions:

If you are new to competing and would like some more information please don’t hesitate to ask a member of the committee for advice. There are several members of the committee who have fenced competitively for years and will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Finally, BUCS individuals will be held from the 20th – 22nd February 2015 in Sheffield. The club is allowed to enter 6 individuals per weapon per gender and while priority goes to our best fencers everyone is welcome to apply to enter, as we rarely fill our allocated spaces. Further details will be announced closer to the event.
